A well rounded course in journalism opens up career opportunities in the following areas of work: Public Relations, Print Media, Electronic Media, Television, Radio, Film industry, Management, Advertising, Publishing, Marketing. Also, in the age of information, convergence and technology that is now upon us, there are no water-tight compartments between these professional areas. Professionals can move seamlessly from one to the other provided they have undergone a good, well rounded practical cum theoretical training in mass communication. Apart from seamless movement in journalism careers, the other game changer is the possibility of global integration of news content, investments and careers. Right from news agencies to content sharing pacts between Indian and global publications, the sky is the limit for young and dynamic professionals in journalism in India. In fact some of the earliest and largest corporate communication and public relations firms in India were started by veteran journalists who had spent years and decades in the print media.
