MR. P.K. BANDYOPADHYAY

Mr. P.K. Bandyopadhyay

Mr. P.K. Bandyopadhyay is a media specialist of national and international acclaim. Journalist, author, broadcaster and television film-maker, Shri Bandyopadhyay was on the staff of the Press Trust of India for over 20 years with his last assignment there as Manager International News Exchange). During this period, he was elected to the prestigious post of Secretary General, Organisation of Asia-Pacific News Agencies. He also worked as Communications Consultant to the UNESCO.

He has made several documentaries and current affairs programmes for Doordarshan. Two of his popular books are 'A Practitioner's Guide to Journalistic Ethics' and 'Advertising Law and Ethics'. He has been teaching journalism and other media subjects for about two decades and is invited and is invited from time to time by various universities and institutes like BHU, IIMC New Delhi, etc., as a guest lecturer. He is currently the President of the Media Watch Group

N.N.Sarker

MR.N.N.Sarskar

Prof. N.N. Sarkar specialises in layout, design, typography and print production. He retired from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi in 2002, after serving there for over 22 years. Before joining IIMC in 1980 he had been a graphic designer for over two decades with several reputed organisations, advertising agencies, public and private sector companies, Government of India, and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.

Prof. Sarkar is a much sought after teacher in various professional institutes and universities, where he has served as a visiting faculty member, examiner and curriculum consultant. He has written a number of books in his own area of specialisation, prominent among them being, 'Art and Art Production Designing' and 'Print Communication and Public Relations'. All his books have been widely acclaimed by scholars and practitioners. He has also written lessons for distance education programmes of various universities/institutions, organisations and for several professional courses related to communication, design and production.

Subhash C. Sood

Mr.Subhash C. Sood

Mr. Subhash C. Sood, and experienced advertising and public relations professional, is an effect-ive combination of a practitioner and academician. Mr. Sood has over 22 years of experience in various departments of reputed advertising agencies. He retired as General Manager (Corporate Communications) of the C.K. Birla Group after a stint of over 16 years in public relations.

Mr. Sood, former Chairman of Public Relations Society of India (Delhi Chapter), has been conferred the title of 'Guru Srestha' by Rajasthan University.

Mr.Sailesh Sen Gupta

Mr. Sailesh Sen Gupta

Mr. Sailesh Sen Gupta, a post-graduate in economics and commerce, is a well-known comm-unications and management professional. He has been in the field of corporate service as well as academics for over 25 years. He has attended professional courses at the Asian Institute of Mass Communication (Singapore), Management and Development Institute (New Delhi) and Administrative Staff College of India (Hyderabad).

Mr Sen Gupta has served as the corporate head of the public relations and corporate communication division of a large public sector corporation under the Government of India. He serves as a faculty member for communication, advertising and management subjects in a number of leading business and professional institutes at Delhi. Author of the best-selling book, 'Management of Public Relations and Communication', he is also one of the few recipients of the prestigious 'Media India Award'.

Mr. Jaswant Rai

Mr. Jaswant Rai

Mr. Jaswant Rai is a visiting faculty member of the International Institute of Mass Media (IIMM) and the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi. He has been teaching Indian and foreign students for the last 15 years. He has also been delivering lectures at a number of institutes affiliated to reputed universities.

Mr. Rai has also worked with All India Radio, New Delhi, as Programme Executive/News Producer in various departments including its News Services Division, English Talks Section and Commercial Broadcasting Service for the last 37 years. He was closely associated with the planning and creation of NSD's new format for its News Bulletins Cell and the FM-2 Channel of AIR. He has won a number of awards including the prestigious first prize of the Akashwani Award for the best feature. He has also shouldered the responsibility of accompanying the President and the Prime Minister of India on their state visits to a number of countries including USA, UK, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, etc., for the purpose of news coverage.

Ms. Manjari Joshi

Ms. Manjari Joshi

Ms. Manjari Joshi is a B.Sc. (Hons.) Chemistry from Miranda House, Delhi University and a post-graduate in Russian language, literature and translation from Jawaharlal Nehru University. She has also been awarded the UGC fellowship for her research degree in Russian. She has worked for nearly three decades in radio and television as an announcer, presenter, script writer, and finally, new anchor. Of late, she has been writing regularly on music, dance and culture for news magazines like Outlook and many others.

Ms. Joshi has extensively translated the literary works of several Russian scholars into Hindi. Her translations of Abai Kunavev have been published in an anthology by the Sahitya Academy, New Delhi. She has also written a children’s book titled, ‘Traditions of Indian Music’ published by the National Book Trust. It is remarkable that this book has already seen over five reprints in just three years of its initial publication. Currently she is devoting herself to teaching in the area of mass communication.

Ms. Manjari Joshi has the honour of having been awarded by several organizations for her significant contribution to Indian television and the Hindi language. She is the proud recipient of prestigious awards such as the ‘Phanishwarnath Renu Award by the Rajbhasha Vibhag of the Government of Bihar, the Critic Council Award for Newsreading by the Critic Council of India, Calcutta and the Maitri Manch Award for Newsreading, to mention just a few.

Mr. M.A. Jawed

Mr. M.A. Jawed

Dr. M.A. Jawed, an Associate Professor of political science, is a teacher of repute in the areas of political science, journalism and mass communication. He did his B.A. (Hons.), M.A. (Political Science) and LLB from Delhi University, followed by a Ph.D. in political science with his thesis entitled, ‘Political Thought of Iqbal’. He subsequently published his well-researched book on the life of the famous poet Iqbal titled ‘The Unknown Iqbal’.

Dr. Jawed has long been a keen and critical observer of the Indian political scene, and has an excellent historical perspective of the problems currently facing our country. He has made significant contribution in the field of ‘Principles of Politics’, and has authored lessons for graduate and post-graduate students of the Delhi University.

Dr. Jawed is also associated with the media, and has worked with eminent media personalities such as Faizal Alkazi. He bears the credit of having scripted and directed several television serials and documentaries, and is currently working as an editor for a fortnightly newspaper.

Mr. Ashok Srivastava

Mr. Ashok Srivastava

Mr. Ashok Srivastava, is currently a much respected news and chat show anchor, and has, in fact, been the very face of DD News for the preceding four years. He has been an anchor for two of its most popular prime time shows - 'Samachar Plus', a one-hour daily bulletin, and the weekly current affairs chat show 'Charcha Mein'. He was awarded the prestigious title of "Best News Anchor" at the 5th DD Awards in Mumbai in November 2005.

A post graduate in Hindi from Delhi University, Mr. Srivastava, with his gifted flair for news reporting, became the recipient of the "Best Reporter Award" for display of his exceptional journalistic talent during his service at Bharat Prakashan. Subsequently, he worked with reputed newspapers like Navbharat Times, Jansatta and Sunday Mail. His stint with television started with his role as news editor for the immensely popular current affairs show 'Ankhon Dekhi' by Nalini Singh's TV Live.

During his illustrious media career, spanning over 11 years, Mr. Srivastava has covered numerous events of national and international significance. He also anchored the hugely popular cricket show 'Boundary Paar', which garnered the highest TRP for any cricket related show by a news channel.

Mr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma

Mr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma

Mr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma, with over 25 years of experience in the field of broadcasting, has been rendering commentaries for Republic Day and Independence Day parades in addition to other sports events. He has been closely associated with broadcasting channels such as AIR, Doordarshan, Films Division, Zee News, NDTV, UNI, PTI, ANI, Discovery, NGC, etc. besides film and serial production houses and many other organisations in various capacities such as announcer, news reader, voice over, dubbing artist, anchor, commentator, writer, director, lyricist, drama voice and instructor. He has an excellent command over Hindi and spoken Hindustani, and has been teaching for over eight years now.

Mr. Sharma is among the senior-most FM presenters in the country. He lent his voice for films like Gadar, Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar, and for many serials too. He has worked as a dubbing artist for numerous production houses such as BR Films, Creative Eye, UTV, CMM, Crest, Pro Video, etc.

Ms. Simrat Gulati

Ms. Simrat Gulati

Ms. Simrat Gulati has been associated with International Institute of Mass Media (IIMM) for the preceding 3 years. She has the credit for having formulated the content for the course, 'Advertising and Public Relations'.

After completing her Diploma in Advertising and Public Relations from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi in 1985, she worked with various advertising, PR and market research organisations. Utilizing the knowledge and skills she acquired there, she is now into sharing her experiences with students, and has been teaching for the past 11 years.

Mr. Vikram Kalra

Mr. Vikram Kalra

Mr. Vikram Kalra is a seasoned graphic designer and photographer by profession and holds a BFA (Applied Arts/Graphics) degree from the Department of Fine Arts, Jamia University, Delhi. He has a broad teaching experience in his area of specialization, having taught students at various institutes in Delhi for over 15 years now.

Mr. Kalra has also been closely associated with a whole range of designing, printing and photography projects linked to the production of magazines, newsletters, brochures and pamphlets for various commercial and non-commercial organizations. He is capable of handling any printing job on a turnkey footing, beginning from concept, layout and photography, right up to the final printing and lamination of the finished product.

He has held a number of teaching assignments at prestigious academic and professional institutes in and around Delhi. These include IIFT, Apeejay Institute of Design, South Delhi Polytechnic for Women and Pearl Academy of Fashion. Presently too he is engaged as a visiting faculty member at the NIA (New Institute of Advertising), New Delhi and at MREI, Faridabad.

Mr. Chandan Kumar Srivastav

Mr. Chandan K. Srivastav is a Post-Graduate Diploma holder in Mass Communication (Hindi) from Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. degree titled ‘Development of Hindi in the Public Sphere in the Latter Half of the Nineteenth Century’ under the able supervision of Dr. Purushottam Agarwal at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Mr Srivastawa has worked as guest faculty member for Mass Communication at the Department of Hindi, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi as well as for the College of Continuing and Distant Education, Delhi University, New Delhi. He has a large amount of translation work to his credit and is presently also engaged in translating the course material for post-graduate classes at the Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University.

Mr. Rajeev Gaursingh

Mr. Rajeev Gaursingh

Mr. Rajeev Gaursingh is a professional in dramatics with specialisation in acting from the prestigious National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi. He received a fellowship from Charles Wallace (India) Trust for Perfor-ming Arts (UK) for pursuing an advanced course in acting from Mount View Theatre School, London. He participated as an actor in three International Theatre Festivals held in Columbia (South America), Lahore (Pakistan) and Edinburgh (Scotland), and also in the Asian Theatre Festival held in Tokyo (Japan) in 2002.

He also worked as an actor, with eminent theatre directors in India and abroad such as Barry John, B.V. Kamath, Ram Gopal Bajaj, Amal Allana, Robin Das, Prasanna, Anamika Haksar, Valentine Teplyakov (Russia), Oleg Lipstin (Ukraine), Kenneth Rea, Clive Barker, Cicely Berry (UK), Andrei Bell (France), Bozena (Poland), Alexander Stilmart (Germany). He has also acted in the relatively recent digital films Tapash directed by Meenakshi Vinay Rai and Lakshya directed by Farhan Akhtar.
