Discipline |
|
|
1. Discipline
includes the observance of good conduct and orderly behaviour by the students of
the Institute.
2.
Every students
shall be issued an identity card.
3.
Entry to the Institute
premises is permitted only to valid identity card holders. A student shall
always carry his/her identity card and shall be
obliged to produce it on request.
4.
The identity card is
valid only for the duration of the programme for which the student has obtained
admission.
5.
In case a
student is found to be continuously absent from classes without information or
notice in writing for a period of 10 days or more in one
or more classes, his/her name shall be struck off the rolls. In such an
event, no claim for refund of fees shall be entertained.
6.
Tobacco and alcohol
are strictly prohibited within the campus premises.
7.
Any student found
guilty of impersonation or giving false name, or otherwise found guilty of
forgery, shall be liable to disciplinary action. |

8 . Breach of discipline shall include : |
|
|
(a) Irregularity of
attendance
(b) Disobeying the instructions of teachers or other persons in authority
(c) Misconduct or misbehaviour of any nature towards any teacher or employee of
the Institute, or even a visitor to the Institute.
(d) Damaging, spoiling or disfiguring the property/equipment of the Institute.
(e) Giving publicity to misleading stories or rumours amongst the students.
(f) Any other conduct anywhere, considered by the Institute authorities to be
unbecoming of a student. |

9. Students
found guilty of breach of discipline shall be liable to be punished with either
of the following : |
|

(a) Monetary fine
(b) Ban on entry into the Institute premises
(c) Expulsion from the Institute |
|
|
Entry to the Institute premises is permitted only to valid identity card
holders. A student shall always carry his/her identity card and shall be obliged
to produce it |

However, no such punishment shall be imposed on an erring student without being
afforded a fair chance to defend himself/herself. In the meanwhile,
the Director of the Institute
can suspend an erring student during the period of disciplinary proceedings
against him/her. |

|
|
10.
All decisions made by the Governing Council of the Institute shall be binding on
all concerned. |

|
General Rules Regarding Fees and Accounts |
|
|
1.
Fee can be paid in cash or via pay order/demand draft during the specified
period. A fee receipt for the same must be obtained from the
accounts department.
2.
If the last date of payment of fee is a holiday, the fee shall be accepted on
the next working day.
3.
The fees of the Institute are non-refundable and cannot be adjusted for any
alternative course or for a subsequent session.
4.
In case of failure to pay the required fee by the prescribed date, a penalty of
Rs. 100/- per day shall be charged. provided the dues are cleared within
10 days. Thereafter, the name of the student shall be struck off the rolls and
he/she shall only be readmitted on an additional payment of Rs. 5000/-.
5.
In case of cancellation of admission, fees shall on no account be refunded to
the student.
6.
All demand drafts (DD)/pay orders/cheques for payment of fees should be drawn in
favour of “International Institute of Mass Media”, a unit
of Mass Media Education Society.
7.
Rs. 10,000/p.a. will only be refunded (wherever applicable) if the student has
minimum 80% attendance. Else it will be forfeited for that year. |

Library Facilities |
|
|
1.
To become a member of the Institutes library, the student is required to submit
a refundable security deposit fee of Rs. 1000/-. Students who
become members of the aforesaid library shall be issued a library card. Only
valid library card holders shall be eligible to use the library facilities.

2.
Students can get upto two books issued at a time for a period of one week. If
any book is overdue for return, a fine of Rs. 50/- per day shall
be imposed in case of default.
3.
In
case of loss or damage of books, the concerned student shall have to bear the
cost of books or otherwise replace the same.
4.
In case of loss of library card, a duplicate shall be issued on submission of a
written request and payment of a fine for the same to the library
incharge.
The library card issued to a student shall be valid only for the duration of the
programme that the student is pursuing. |
